Khaleesi the Husky and Dragon Slayer

“What the HELL did you get us into?” I asked Ryan as we pulled around the back of a Cracker Barrel at 3:30am to pick up our new puppy. A big, white van stacked from floor to ceiling with puppy carriers brought our new husky mix pup all the way from South Carolina. Sketchy much? (This is what I get for letting a man coordinate how we got a dog)

Really, though, she came from a perfectly reputable rescue organization that recruits volunteers to transport the puppies to their forever homes. It just so happened they passed through our area in the middle of the night. Clearly, it didn’t faze many people as there were about ten other families picking up their new pets.

We had a very full weekend working on potty training and and establishing rapport with our new “baby.” She already snuggles, cries when we leave, and has killed a toy; hence the dragon slayer title. We are enjoying every minute with our little one, even if it IS exhausting.

Not the best quality as I was trying to be discreet, but, seriously, how freaked out would you be about this?

“I just want some belly rubs, Mom.”

Poor dragon. Khaleesi ate its arm and butt.

Our little family (minus the cats).

Isn’t she adorable?! Puppy training tips are welcome 🙂
